What is a RRIF?

A Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) serves as an extension of your registered retirement savings plan (RRSP), enabling you to use the savings you have accumulated during your working years.  You must convert the funds in your RRSP to a RRIF by December 31 of the year you turn 71.
